Kirkby Lonsdale Arts Society was established in 1972 for the general advancement and appreciation of art. The current membership is between thirty and forty.
There are working meetings on Thursday evenings in the Methodist Schoolroom: there are also flexible daytime meetings organised by members and held in their own homes.
Subjects are usually suggested, but members do work of their own choice if they wish. There is no formal tuition but usually a ‘Leader’ will give advice and members help one another with ideas. These meetings are from October to April with a break in December. Sometimes we are able to arrange an evening demonstration or lecture.
The Society holds an Annual Exhibition of members’ work during the Summer preceded by a private preview open to members and their friends.
Membership is restricted to people living within 10 miles of Kirkby Lonsdale.
