The new landlady at a South Lakes public house is offering a seasonal drink and mince pie to Santa’s elfs who help with the town’s Christmas market and fair.
Charlotte Hodges has recently taken over at the Red Dragon Inn in Kirkby Lonsdale, with the aim of making it a community-focused hostelry.
She spoke to one of the organisers of the annual Christmas market and fair, Phoebe Rodway, to see how she could become involved.
Phoebe was starting to recruit marshals, stewards and elfs so Charlotte offered to help with a free drink and mince pies for those who volunteer.
‘This was a lovely gesture,’ said Phoebe. ‘Charlotte is new to the town and wanted to be involved with the community right from the start, so came for a chat with us.
‘She’s also offered to supply mince pies and mulled wine for people taking part in our lantern walks in December.’
Kirkby Lonsdale’s annual Christmas market and fair starts on Friday, December 3rd until Sunday 5th.
