The Great Big Green Week will take place 18 – 26 September 2021, and will be the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. Thousands of events will celebrate how communities are taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces, and encourage others to get involved too. Get involved in Kirkby Lonsdale and enter the Make a Promise to My Planet Postcard Competition and meet Pilgrimage for Nature as it passes through Kirkby Lonsdale the first weekend of October. There will be a Fairtrade market stall on Thursday 30th September and 7th October where you can learn more about Fair Trade, climate change and the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow at the end of October. The Great Big Green Week will be hosted by The Climate Coalition and in Scotland, where it will be called the Climate Fringe Week, it will be hosted by the sister organisation Stop Climate Chaos Scotland. Together we will call on politicians to raise their ambition and champion action on climate change.
