A Phoenix Rising Art Taster workshop with Kirkby Lonsdale CIC and Green Close.
The Gratitude Gallery photography workshop is a Phoenix Rising event. Phoenix Rising is a new visual art and wellbeing programme of workshops that puts your health at the heart of living and working in our community. Make a space for your wellbeing needs, whilst learning, sharing your ideas and connecting with others on a programme of fun, creative activities led by experienced professional artists.
The first Phoenix Rising community activity will be a four-week photography programme called Gratitude Gallery which will run online each Friday from 30th April. Practicing gratitude is scientifically proven to make you happier by recognising the goodness in the world around you – and this is exactly what the Phoenix Rising programme aims to do. You will be guided by professional photographer Ginny Koppenhol as you capture your surroundings through the lens of appreciation and kindness, and at the end of the course this message will be spread throughout the community as your work is displayed voluntarily in businesses across town.
A phone photography gratitude practice, designed as an engaging and supportive group activity during these challenging times. The Gratitude Gallery will consist of 4 weekly online workshops bringing together a group of 10 people to learn phone photography skills and use them to create daily photos with gratitude at their heart. During the workshops you will be given tips, techniques and given some practical activities, so you can create eye-catching smartphone photographs. At the end of the course, a gallery of the group’s photos, will be created as a way of celebrating these small moments of appreciation.
Gratitude Gallery Led by photography artist Ginny Koppenhol
Ginny Koppenhol is a professional photographer who has run this popular online course The Gratitude Gallery reaching hundreds of people all over the country. It is a month-long project comprising of 4 workshops, bringing together people who want to learn phone photography skills and use them to create daily photos with gratitude at their heart.
