Levens Choir and the English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble
Seventeenth century Venice was brimming with trade, political influence and culture…Levens Choir is delighted to be joined by The English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble at 7.30pm on Saturday 9th April 2022 at Lancaster Priory, and on Sunday 10th April 2022 at The Parish Church of St George, Castle Street, Kendal. These very special performances will be conducted by Gawain Glenton, the Ensemble’s co-director and a former pupil of Carnforth High School. They will bring to life the wonders of Claudio Monteverdi’s compositions, along with those of some of his contemporaries.You can find out more hereTickets

Levens Choir is a highly regarded local South Cumbrian choir and former ‘Cumbria Choir of the Year’. They rehearse in Endmoor and they are directed by Gawain Glenton who grew up locally and is now an internationally acclaimed musician. For this concert they are joined by The English Cornett & Sackbutt Ensemble, a virtuoso group who specialise in playing music of the period on instruments of the day.
