Daria Kulesh is a rising star and a unique character on the UK folk scene. Described as “bold, exotic, impressive:” she has a rich, lyrical voice and a strong Russian and Ingush heritage with which to tell powerful, timeless, eye opening and profoundly uplifting human stories. www.daria-kulesh.co.uk

She will tell of her quest to explore her family roots which took her from Hertfordshire to Ingushetia (Ghalghai Mokh) – the lost home of Daria’s Grandmother Fatima Akhrieva. This mountainous republic in the south of Russia, bordering Georgia, is a land of beauty and tragedy, of fascinating culture and age-old traditions. Mike Harding praised the “The Moon and the Pilot” as “one of the most beautiful new songs of the last ten years”. Her 2017 album “Long Lost Home” is haunting, poignant and full of humanity. It won awards in the UK and in Russia, including the Laurel Canyon Music’s Album of the Year and has been played on national radio, with reviews calling it a “triumph”, a “masterpiece”.
